Picasso at the Nasher (part 1)     {Download Original Size}

Drawn by Beck Tench on August 19th, 2009

The Nasher is opening a Picasso exhibit tomorrow and I got a sneak peek today at an event for press and bloggers. I took two pages of notes/sketches. This page contains my observations before we entered the exhibit and the next drawing is from the exhibit itself.

Before we went into the exhibit, we listened to several people discuss their roles in its conception and creation. It’s clear the most interesting person (to me) was the curator from Yale who talked about her favorite work (a collage Picasso created after Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Toklas left a calling card at his door) and the themes of the exhibition itself (conversation, fiction, inscription).
